You is an American psychological suspense television series developed by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble. Produced by Warner Horizon Television, in association with Alloy Entertainment and A&E Studios, the first season is based on the 2014 novel of the same name by Caroline Kepnes and follows Joe Goldberg, a New York-based bookstore manager and serial killer who falls in love quickly develops an extreme, toxic and delusional obsession. It stars Penn Badgley and Elizabeth Lail as leads in the first season and Luca Padovan, Zach Cherry, and Shay Mitchell in supporting roles. For the second season, Victoria Pedretti joined Badgley as the lead, and Ambyr Childers was promoted to the main cast, alongside the additions of James Scully, Jenna Ortega, and Carmela Zumbado.
The series premiered on Lifetime on September 9, 2018 in the United States and launched on Netflix internationally on December 26, 2018. The series attracted a limited audience on Lifetime before becoming more popular and a critical success for Netflix, with more than 40 million viewers having streamed the first season after its debut on the streaming service.4 On July 26, 2018, prior to the series premiere, Lifetime announced that it had renewed it for a second season based on in the Kepnes follow-up novel Hidden Bodies. On December 3, 2018, it was announced that the series would be moving to Netflix as a Netflix original title. The second season was released exclusively on Netflix on December 26, 2019.5 On January 14, 2020, the series was renewed for a third season by Netflix, which launched on October 15, 2021, with Badgley and Pedretti reprising their roles. .6 In October 2021 before the premiere of the third season, Netflix announced the renewal of the series for a fourth season. You Season 1, You Season 2, You Season 3.
The first season of You takes place in New York City. The protagonist, Joe Goldberg is the manager in a city bookstore due to his great passion for books since he was a child. Working in the bookstore, he meets Guinevere Beck, a young writer with whom he falls in love at first sight. Due to the love he feels for her, he develops a toxic obsession which will bring him a series of very significant problems in her life.
In the second season, the protagonist Joe moves to Los Angeles to leave his past as a bookseller behind and begins a new life with a new job and a new identity. In the city of Los Angeles he meets Love Quinn, with whom he remembers his past obsessions in New York. With Love, Joe will try to make the love between them work at all costs and above all else, trying to avoid the Joe of the past.
In the third season, Joe and Love move to Madre Linda to start a family, but their differences, or rather, their equalities will not allow them to live together and only one will be able to leave that family alive.

There isn't a single person on the planet who hasn't heard of this film. The cast also does an excellent job in their parts. Before you read this review and before I give you any spoilers about the plot, I strongly advise you to watch the film. It's nearly impossible not to like You (TV series). The plot is well-crafted, the pacing is excellent, and all of the performers provide outstanding performances. Because of how excellent it was, it film stands out in my mind. Maybe it's because I wasn't expecting it. I strongly advise everyone to watch this film; you will not be disappointed.
