ABOUT THE SERIES "WEEKLY IDOL"

Weekly Idol (Hangul: 주간 아이돌; Romaja: Jugan Aidol) is a South Korean reality television show, broadcast every Wednesday at 6 p.m. on MBC1, cable channel MBC comedy and reality show. economic. Host and success for the show are comedian Jeong Hyeong-don and rapper Defconn. On February 22, 2018, the program was replaced by a new host including Lee Sang-min, Yoo Se-yoon and Kim Shin-young.

The show consists of several segments, one of which is called Real Chart! Idol Self-Ranking, where idols are asked to rank against each other on various topics and announce the results soon after.

Idol of the Week, the second segment, guest groups will perform some talent. The first idol group to record for this segment was INFINITE. This segment includes some of the following scenes:

"Random Play Dance" – The staff will play any part of the song performed by themselves. The music will randomly stop or switch to another section and their task is to perform the appropriate choreography of each piece. "Profile Verification" – The host (Jeong Hyeong-don and Defconn) gives personal information, facts, events and rumors around the guests prepared from the crew members. The guests need to prove themselves, or prove the above on their own. "Win Against Idol" – Guests will play a game with the host. If the guest is able to beat the host, then they receive a special gift and the loser (usually the MC) is subject to physical punishment from the winner. "Grill Idol" – A special scene where the guests had to correctly answer the question from the MC placed on the board. After the guests answered correctly, they could eat Hanwoo grilled beef prepared by the staff. Jung Ilhoon, a member of BtoB, often appears as a special guest in this scene from November 2012. "DoniConi Idol Call Center" - A special call center is prepared within 14 hours before the recording and fans can call and leave a message for their idol, after which it will be revealed to the idols. "99 Seconds Challenge" - The guests need to complete a certain task within 99 seconds. If they fail, they will receive a penalty that they have written about before and everyone needs to vote to choose who will take the punishment. This new segment started in 2015 from episode 205 where Teen Top was a guest. At each segment, they chat intimately, giving the MCs the opportunity to make humorous comments about the idols or vice versa.

From December 31, 2011, "Weekly Idol Award" was the last episode of the year. In this episode, the MC will summarize the segments and guest appearances in the past year.
