ABOUT SERIES "THE REBEL"

The Rebel is a 2021 Chinese historical thriller television series directed by Zhou You and starring Zhu Yilong, Tong Yao, and Wang Zhiwen, based on Bi Yu's novel of the same name. Starting June 7, 2021, The Rebel will air on CCTV-8 and iQIYI.

THE REBEL SYNOPSIS

Lin Nansheng, a young student in the Fuxing Club cadre training class, was transported to Shanghai in 1936 by Chen Moqun, the head of the Fuxing Club's Shanghai area, to assist in the arrest of the Lanyi Club's underground party. During the course of his activities, the upright and simple Lin Nansheng was constantly drawn to the sense of mission and fearless sacrifice of Gu Shenyan, Ji Zhongyuan, Zhu Yizhen, and other Communists for the country and the people, and gained a better understanding of the Kuomintang's chaos and social reality. Thinking about it, I've gained a deeper understanding of Communist ideals and goals.

Lin Nansheng fought bravely and resolutely against the Japanese and puppets, and he achieved numerous military victories. He has frequently stood with the Communists in the face of national justice, and he has utilized his special role in the military to provide significant assistance to the underground party, particularly at key periods. Lin Nansheng has matured into a legitimate Communist Party member after 10 years of knowledge and choice, following the triumph in the War of Resistance Against Japan. He also made remarkable contributions to the party and the country during a critical period of the Liberation War.
