Twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.
The Last of Us is an US post-apocalyptic drama television series created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann for HBO. It was based on the video game developed by Naughty Dog in 2013, the series follows Joel (Pedro Pascal), a smuggler tasked with escorting young Ellie (Bella Ramsey) in post-apocalyptic America. Gabriel Luna will play Joel's brother Tommy, Merle Dandridge will play resistance leader Marlene, and Anna Torv will play Joel's smuggling partner Tess.
Reportedly the largest Canadian TV production in history, The Last of Us was filmed in Alberta from July 2021 to June 2022. It is the first HBO series based on a video game and is a co-production of Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions, Naughty Dog, The Mighty Mint, and Word Games. The first season consists of nine episodes written by Druckmann and Mazin, who wrote and co-directed the original game. The score was composed by Gustavo Santaolalla and David Fleming, who composed for the game. The series aired on his January 15, 2023. She was acclaimed by critics who praised her performance, writing, production design and score. Some considered it the best adaptation of a live-action video game.
Plot
