ABOUT Designated Survivor Season 1

Designated Survivor is an American television series in 53 episodes of 42 minutes created by David Guggenheim, and broadcast between September 21, 20161 and May 16, 2018 on the ABC network and simultaneously on the CTV network in Canada for first two seasons, then from June 7, 2019 on the Netflix service in these two countries.

In Belgium, the series has been broadcast since October 2016 on Netflix, in Switzerland and France, since November 6, 2016 on the same service. In Quebec, it is broadcast between January 31, 2017 and July 5, 2018 on the Club Illico service then unencrypted from September 28, 2017 on the TVA network for the first two seasons then from 2018 on the Netflix service. On July 24, 2019, Netflix announced the discontinuation of the series.

Designated Survivor Season 1 synopsis

n the course of the State of the Union speech, an attack struck the Capitol. The President of the United States and the Vice President perish along with the entire cabinet, as well as all members of Congress, with the exception of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Tom Kirkman, chosen as the "survivor." designated ”(designated survivor). He was then invested president of the United States.

The story appears to be a loose interpretation of Tom Clancy's novel, Sur Order (Albin Michel, 1997), or at least a full-scale re-reading of a "designated survivor" becoming President of the United States under such circumstances..

Designated Survivor Season 1 CAST

• Kiefer Sutherland as Tom Kirkman, the President of the United States, sworn in following an unprecedented attack on the Capitol building which killed the entire government. He formerly held the office of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. Kirkman is elected for a second term at the end of the third season.

• Natascha McElhone as Alex Kirkman (seasons 1–2), the First Lady of the United States. Prior to becoming First Lady, Alex was an immigration attorney in private practice. In season two, Alex was killed after a truck crashed into the motorcade she was traveling in.

• Adan Canto as Aaron Shore (né Rivera), the Vice President-elect of the United States. Before being put on President Kirkman's ticket in his re-election campaign in the last season, Aaron worked as Kirkman's first Chief of Staff until resigning after being interrogated about the terrorist attack on the Capitol in the first season. During that time, he worked as a senior aide to the Speaker of the House Kimble Hookstraten, before returning to the White House as Kirkman's National Security Advisor.

• Italia Ricci as Emily Rhodes, the spokesperson of Kirkman's presidential campaign. She has worked for Tom since his days as HUD Secretary, where she was his chief of staff. After Kirkman became President, she was appointed Special Advisor, and, following Aaron's resignation, his Chief of Staff until resigning from the White House to live in Florida with her mother. She later returned and was reinstated as Special Advisor.

Designated Survivor Season 1 IS WORTH TO WATCH

The entire television show is quite unforgettable. When you return to the real world, most television shows, even the best ones, vanish like mist; they leave memories behind, but their realism goes away soon. This isn't the case. As you may be aware, the title "best television program" is subjective. What you and I believe to be the finest may not appear on anyone else's list. As a result, the usual norm is to declare the one that the majority of people choose to be the greatest. The following television shows are, in my opinion, among the best ever produced. The plethora of different dialogues amongst the characters distinguishes the conversations in this television series from those in other productions. It gave me a unique sense that I don't frequently get in today's movie, which is centered on excitement, speed, and filling the audience with views of following punched-out strikes. Seriously, I'd like to re-watch this television show online. It turned out to be fantastic!
