### About Series "Boys Over Flowers Season 2 (2018)"

10 years have passed since legendary F4 members Tsukasa Domyoji, Rui Hanazawa, Sojiro Nishikado and Akira Mimasaka have graduated from Eitoku Academy. Since their departure, the school has been on a steady decline in funding and student enrollment. Correct 5 is formed at the high school with Haruto Kaguragi (Sho Hirano) as the group's leader. They are worried about the school's steady demise. They decide to find deadbeat students and kick them out of the school. Haruto Kaguragi likes ordering stuff that makes him look bigger physically. He uses his butler's name for his online orders and receives the items at a convenience store. Oto Edogawa (Hana Sugisaki) works part-time at the convenience store. She also attends the same school as Haruto Kaguragi. Oto Edogawa is actually from a poor family, but she pretends to be from a rich family to fit in at school. Meanwhile, Momonozono Academy where Tenma Hase serves as student council president is quickly catching up to Eitoku Academy as a result of Tenma's achievements. Tenma and Oto are in fact engaged to one another and are to be married, but only on the condition that Oto attends Eitoku Academy until she turns 18.

This story is the official sequel to the popular movie Boys Over Flowers / Hana Yori Dongo. BOF/HYD is a timeless classic that received numerous remakes over the years. This and Mischievous Kiss are two Japanese manga series that have taken over the drama land by a storm creating countless remakes in many countries. So to see an official remake for the second season was a nice surprise for me.

At first, I wasn't quite sure what the remake would actually be like due to the fact that I only knew (and loved) Nakagawa Taishi from the cast. So I researched further and discovered that Nakagawa and the leading lady here Sugisaka Hana had actually acted together before in an amazing crime mystery movie. So I put this on hold until they completely depended on it and started watching it. After finishing that, to be honest I was a bit disappointed that the two of them weren't the main couple in this movie.

That was until I watched the first episode of this series and ended up falling in love with the amazingly flawed character Haruto. As the story and as Haruto's fate always reminded him, Haruto was utterly flawed. I'm not saying this in any way to bring Haruto down. The fact that he's lacking is the perfect reason why he's so great. Compared to Tenma, Haruto is extremely lacking in talent but he makes up for that with absolute honesty and purity in his heart. Please don't hate me for this but honestly prefer Haruto's character a bit more Domyouji (yes I know I should be hanged. If someone told me this before I watched Hana Nochi Hare, I would think that person. also mad). Unlike Domyouji, I feel that Haruto has more compassion in his heart. As I mentioned before, I'm always conflicted about who I like. Apparently I had the second lead syndrome. I started watching the movie with second lead syndrome but it only took a few minutes for me to fully get started for Haruto. I love Tenma but Edogawa simply should be with Haruto. That is the last.

I don't really mind the supporting characters. They don't stand out as much as the supporting characters in HYD but nonetheless they are very supportive of the three of us. Only Airi and Megumi stand out a bit more but other than that I can't even remember the exact names.

One of the best parts of this story? Constant references to the main story. It's amazing to hear about these characters with occasional cameos. HAS A CAMEOS SO WATCH THIS!!!! Then I had to finish my review because I was afraid I might really spoil the story and a nasty guy badged me with a review where I put a little skim (but to defend me, I mentioned earlier there's a spoiler and don't read if they don't want to). Anyway that's for later. I really hope they do a second season for this cuz, honestly I'm dying for a second season so they can wrap up Haruto and Edogawa's story nicely :)

PS- The songs are BEAUTIFUL. Utada Hikaru killed me with her trail. Every time I listen to it, I imagine Haruto's heartbroken face. The lyrics perfectly express Haruto's feelings for Edogawa.
