ABOUT DRAMA: Cruel Love

Cruel Love (Korean: 못된 사랑; RR: Motdoen Sarang; lit. Bad Love) is a 2007 Korean drama series starring Kwon Sang-woo, Lee Yo-won, and Kim Sung-soo. The series aired on KBS2 from December 3, 2007 to February 5, 2008 on Mondays and Tuesdays at 21:55 for 20 episodes. Despite having low domestic viewership ratings, the drama recorded high export sales from Japan and Taiwan due to the attraction of Kwon's Korean Wave.

SYNOPSIS

"Cruel Love" is a story between Na In-jung (Lee Yo-won) and two boys Kang Yong-ki (Kwon Sang-woo) and Lee Soo-hwan (Kim Seong-soo) searching for true love. Just in his 20s, In-jung is a promising cellist and doesn't lack anything in life. During his glory days as a famous figure in the symphony orchestra, In-jung discovers that his first love (Soo-hwan), is again a married man and once married. 5 years in prison for adultery. Rich in ambition and desire to succeed, Soo-hwan marries the daughter of a tycoon to acquire his corporation. Their loveless marriage made their life hell. Soo-hwan loves In-jung at first sight but real life forces him to break up with her. After a broken love with Soo-hwan, In-jung becomes a fried chicken seller in a poor village, with no hope in life. One day, In-jung meets pop singer Yong-ki, the illegitimate son of a wealthy conglomerate president. Not enjoying love from a young age, Yong-ki can only choose art as a place to express his feelings. He lost his first love and is also a colleague Joanna because of his lack of courage and determination before the opposition of his father, who is also Soo-hwan's father-in-law. Through many random events since meeting In-jung, Yong-ki realizes that painful love still exists in his heart. When In jung realizes that he is in love with Yong-ki, Soo-hwan, who ruined her life, appears and pleads with her for forgiveness. How will In-jung decide? This is the crux of the "Cruel Love".
