Athena: Goddess of War Review
In the near future, the Korean peninsula attempts to unify. The Korean government, which needed enormous sums of money for successful reunification, developed a landmark new technology called TWR. TWR is a high-speed nuclear reactor and other countries want this technology.
To prevent terrorism resulting from the TWR breakthrough, the government created a new organization called the NTS (National Counterterrorism Service). Jung-Woo (Jung Woo-Sung) is transferred to the NTS group from NIS. He is excited about the transfer and hopes to live the life of a real agent, but then discovers that his main responsibility is to keep an eye on North Korean defectors.
One day, Jung-Woo is ordered to go to Italy to spy on terrorists from Korea. Jung-Woo comes to Italy with Ki-Soo (Kim Min-Jong). Ki-Soo is a former North Korean spy who defected to South Korea. Ki-Soo's specialty is information about the European region. So far, Ki-Soo is one of the North Korean fugitives that Jung-Woo has to watch.
While in Italy, Soo-Young (Lee Bo-Young), the daughter of South Korean President Jo Myeong-Ho (Lee Jung-Kil), was kidnapped by terrorists. To resolve the case, the Korean government sent more NTS agents including Jae-Hee (Lee Ji-A) to Italy. NTS agents can negotiate with terrorists, but during their negotiations, Hye-In (Su-Ae) suddenly appears. Jung-Woo and the other agents were surprised. Hye-In works as a guide at the gallery in the NIS building. Jung-Woo has always had strong feelings for Hye-In, but he never expressed his feelings for her. Following Hye-In, Son-Hyuk (Cha Seung-Won), director of the East Asia branch of the Department of Homeland Security in the United States, also suddenly appeared. The NTS agents were puzzled by their looks.
Jung-Woo knows that there is a group of secret "solutions" in the NTS whose sole responsibility is to solve problems that other agencies cannot do. More surprisingly, Hye-In was part of that group.
Other mysterious cases begin to happen and Jung-Woo's intuition leads him to believe that there is an unforeseen conspiracy to rearrange the power structure of the entire world. That conspiracy was led by Athena.
What is Athena's real identity and what do Hye-In and Son-Hyuk hide in their NTS "solution" group?
