Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is a 2022 American 3D computer animation Adventure comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures . Directed by Joel Crawford , the film is a sequel to the 2011 film Cat in Shoes , from a screenplay by Paul Fisher and Tommy Swedrow , with Antonio Banderas and Salma Haye Ke , Harvey Geyer , Florence Pouilly , Olivia Colman , Ray Winstone , Samson Kayo , John Molaney , Wagner Mora , Dave Finn Joy RandolphVoiced by Anthony Mendes. The story tells that Mao in Shoes accidentally learns that he has exhausted 8 lives and only has the last life left. He embarks on an adventurous journey to restore the 8 lives he lost.
Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is scheduled by Universal Pictures to have a one-day limited release in the United States on November 26, 2022, and it will be officially released in the United States on December 21, 2022. The film received mostly positive reviews, especially the animation, themes, dubbing, visual effects, action sequences and sense of humor presented by film critics, and some commented that the film has improved compared with the previous one, and was shortlisted for the 95th Academy Awards. Plot
Sometime after Shrek Forever, Puss in Boots threw a party at the Governor's mansion in Del Mar when he woke up an attacking Earth giant while fighting the governor's minions. He managed to overpower the giant, but was crushed to death by the bell a short time later. Waking up, a doctor tells him that after the past eight years he has only one life and advises him to retire immediately to keep the time he has left. Puss initially ignored it, but after a black-headed wolf sucked a drop of blood from him at a local bar that night, he took refuge in the home of an elderly cat lady, Mama Luna, as a house pet. He ceremoniously donned his signature attire outside the house, wrapping up his outlaw career.
Over time, a bearded cat meets Perito, an upbeat dog who disguises himself as a cat. When Goldilocks and the Three Bears crime family come looking for him, their conversation is cut short, only to discover Cat's "grave." They inadvertently tip off to Maomao the existence of the "Wishing Star" and a map showing its location is to be delivered to "Big" Jack Horner that night; Puss sees this as an opportunity to redeem his lost life, and he breaks into the Jack's bakery steals the map and has an unexpected reunion with Kitty Softpaws, who has a grudge against him for abandoning their wedding. After a skirmish breaks out, they and Perito manage to escape with the map, while Maomao barely catches a glimpse of the masked wolf stalking him from behind.
This map takes the trio to a dark forest, which transforms into different landscapes depending on who owns the map: Cat and Kitty have two similar hellish environments, while Perito has a serene and A colorful forest - with man-eating roses; the trio decides to go this route, Puss' beard is shaved off by Kitty as they ride along the river with Perrito. Puss also gets rid of the stick he was previously forced to use in place of his rapier; Perito gets it, only to be caught by Jack in the process. Not long after, Goldi and her gang step in and a fight ensues, but Puss sees the hooded wolf again and runs away in fear, distracting Kitty and allowing Goldi to get the map.
Puss reveals to Perrito that he left Kitty on the altar after his first experience of fear and still regrets it. She overhears their conversation and reveals that she, too, has never been to the altar, feeling like she will never be able to compete with someone who loves herself more than herself. The two manage to retake the map from Goldi's group, but Perrito is captured by them. As the dimension changes, Maomao is accidentally trapped in the "Cave of Lost Souls" after touching the map, and instructs Katie to retrieve Perito.
In the cave, Cat encounters a crystal reflection of his previous life. The hooded wolf who calls himself "Reaper" also shows up, stating that he wants Maomao's last life as retribution for wasting the past eight lives. Terrified, Puss runs away with the map, which Kitty and Perrito see from afar. Meanwhile, a distraught Goldi surprises her supportive bears by revealing that she wants to have a "real" family. Maomao finally reaches the star, but is prevented from making a wish by Kitten, who yells at him for being selfish.
Goldi's team and Jack soon arrive, and a fight ensues during which Jack is thrown into his magical bottomless bag by Kitty, and Goldi saves the baby bear when he is nearly thrown off the star. After Perrito retrieves the map for Puss and reassures him that he has only one life left, Kitty, Goldi and her team, along with Perrito, witness Puss' return from the dead, and a violent duel breaks out between the two. However, after Puss daringly defeats him in the conflict, Death reluctantly decides to let him go, saying he no longer sees the arrogant "Legend" he wanted to kill, but still knows they will meet again.
A giant Jack reappears from his bag, eats a cookie that made him grow up, and snatches the map from Puss and Kitty. When he tries to make a wish, Perrito distracts him, causing Puss, Kitty, and Goldi to take back the map and tear it to shreds, causing the wishing star to collapse and kill Jack. Afterwards, Goldi finally accepts being part of the Bear family, while Puss reconciles with Kitty and promises to live together; some time later, the two and Perito steal a boat from the Governor of Del Mar and set sail with "some old friends "Reunited, they saw the royal castle in the distance not far away.
